Two Timelines, One Liability Chain

THE STRUCTURE OF THE FILM.

Dead Man Days is structured like a prosecution, which is to say: nothing stays in the past.

One timeline follows the company as it forms: the job, the joke, the box, the terms, the market, the stream, the private demo, the death, the statement, the cover story.

The other timeline is the court case that follows. Here, the same decisions return in colder form. A throwaway phrase becomes a clause. A clause becomes a trigger. A trigger becomes an exhibit. A joke in a break room becomes a sentence read aloud by a barrister.

This is not puzzle-box cleverness. It is accumulation. The pleasure is not working out what happened. The pleasure is watching every consequence land.

Every movement asks the same question in a different register:

What did Kit know? When did he know it? And why did nobody stop him?

The courtroom is not where the story pauses. It is where the story reveals itself. The past builds the product. The present puts every decision on trial.
